AppsBow developed vReact VR Training for the Haas VF-4 CNC machine, supported by a highly detailed digital twin of the equipment. The training module focused on a key scenario: preparing the machine for first use.
This scenario guided trainees through the complete sequence of initial startup and configuration, enabling them to safely practice the procedure in a controlled virtual environment. The solution was designed to work with both VR headsets for immersive training and mouse-and-keyboard controls for traditional use, ensuring accessibility across different training setups.
Scope of work
- VR training for VF series machine (VF4 presented)
- Digital twins of Haas VF4
- vReact stage learning system
Overview
Digital Twin
The digital twin of the Haas VF-4 was built with high precision, faithfully replicating the machine’s geometry, proportions, and technical details. Every component was recreated to reflect its real counterpart, ensuring that operators experienced the machine exactly as they would in the physical world. This level of accuracy allowed the VR training to be more than just a visual model, it became a true operational representation of the Haas VF-4, suitable for realistic, hands-on learning.
vReact staged learning system
The project featured a three-stage learning system designed to gradually build operator competence. In Stage 01, trainees worked in guided mode with a task list and highlighted points of interest to follow each step confidently. Stage 02 introduced task mode, where only the task list remained, requiring users to rely more on their own knowledge. In Stage 03, exam mode removed all hints and task lists, challenging operators to complete the full procedure independently and prove their readiness for real operations.
Flexible Access Options
The system was built to run not only on VR headsets but also with a mouse and keyboard in a standard desktop setup. This flexibility allowed training to be carried out in fully immersive VR or through traditional computer interfaces, making it accessible to more users and adaptable to different training environments.
